' My work is a form of enquiry into the intersections of art, architecture and language. I am interested in structures of all kinds – in particular physical, mental and linguistic structures. What intrigues me is their fragility, vulnerability, precariousness, contingency and liability to collapse, and the question of whether, somehow, we can exist outside of them. The three series of work presented here follow these trains of thought. A common thread running through them is the idea of boundaries, and the definition, construction and deconstruction of inside and outside. All are small scale works, and function as an extension of my sketchbook. Often the starting point is a text or a thought, which initiates and informs my making process, then is transformed and reappears, though in visual, material, instinctive and often unpredictable ways.'
